Ryan Reynolds struggled after his honeymoon

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively were forced to move into a tiny ''roadside hotel'' in Canada after their honeymoon in Africa while he filmed his new movie, 'The Captive,' and he found it very challenging.

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively were forced to move into a little ''roadside hotel'' after their wedding.

The 37-year-recent actor, thirty seven, married the previous 'Gossip Girl' star in a secret ceremony near Charleston, South Carolina, in September 2012, and he found it difficult to shoot his new movie, 'The Captive,' in freezing temperatures in Ontario, Canada immediately once they spent their honeymoon soaking up the sun in Africa.

Speaking at a press conference for the movie at the Cannes International Film Festival on Friday (16.05.14), Ryan said: ''I dragged my wife from our honeymoon in Africa and landed her in Ontario, Canada, when it had been minus-forty degrees.''

The heartthrob, who was previously married to Scarlett Johansson for three years until 201one, revealed they moved into ''this small roadside hotel where we stayed for a month. That was the most important challenge.''

But Ryan admitted Blake was a sensible sport, adding: ''Ironically, she coped with it so much better than I did.''

The blonde beauty, 26, previously said she was glad she took it slow off to fancy being a newlywed with Ryan after their nuptials.

She said: ''Having a personal life has been extremely nice. I'd been on 'Gossip Girl' 10 months a year for six years, shooting fifteen-hour days, therefore I hadn't had time to just be since I graduated from high faculty.''

She added: ''It's been nice to reasonably settle into my very own skin and work on things I really love.''
