Hilary Duff is ''still separated'' from Mike Comrie.

The previous couple, who announced their split in January, sparked speculation they had reconciled when being noticed shopping and partying at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival along on Friday (eleven.04.fourteen), but they reportedly just friends.

An insider told PEOPLE.com: ''They are still separated however terribly good friends. They are at Coachella this weekend, that is certain to fan the flames, but they aren't a pair. It's simply not true - they remain separated.''

The duo, who have a two-year-previous son Luca along, said at the time of their split that they would ''remain best friends and can still be in each other's lives.''

Eyewitness previously claimed the 'Thus Yesterday' hitmaker, twenty six, was holding the former ice-hockey player's hand as they purchased a handbag for her during a Chanel store in Los Angeles on Thursday (09.04.fourteen) before flying to Indio, California for the music festival.

A spokesperson for Hilary declined to comment.

Another source said the couple determined to reunite throughout a romantic trip to the Bahamas in February.

The source said: ''Hilary and Mike attached after they were within the Bahamas. Once they were together with their son Luca in the Caribbean, it got emotional and real. Mike broke down and begged Hilary for a second likelihood.

''They've been meeting for hook-ups ever since, and Hilary's softened and the two are moving forward to determine if they can work it out.''
