Zac Efron's life might be in the rut right now, following his recent drug scandal, but the actor's career remains going sturdy as he is reported to produce and star in an exceedingly new adaptation of John Grisham's "The Associate".
The Hollywood Reporter reported that the 26-year-old actor would manufacture the film via his Ninja's Runnin Wild banner ("That Awkward Moment") along with Doug Wick and Lucy Fisher ("Divergent") via Red Wagon Entertainment.
Efron would play Kyle McAvoy, an idealistic graduate of Yale Law School who is blackmailed by a mysterious man to just accept an edge at the planet's largest law firm so as to deliver to the man crucial information the individuals he represents want.
This is not the first we have a tendency to have heard regarding a film adaptation for "The Associate". Shortly when the legal thriller was released in 2009, Paramount needed to flip it into a film with Shia LaBeouf attached to star, however he has since dropped out, leaving the "High School Musical" star to require his place.
This time, sources say that the producers are looking to hire a author before pitching the project to studios.
"The Associate" is Grisham's twenty first novel and the seventh novel to be custom-made to film.
